Jobs Tax Credit Form Isn't Hard To Use

By stressing the complicated part of the program, John Bishop (Economic Issues, January) inadvertently discourages businesses from using the Targeted Jobs Tax Credit. The TJTC form required of the business is probably the simplest form the federal government has ever developed. There are only 10 items to be filled in. All the rest are completed by a state or local agency. Filling in the form takes less time and effort than cashing a check at a grocery store.

We desperately need the support of all business to see that this program is continued. Where else can an employer get up to $3,000 tax credit every time he or she hires someone who meets such broad criteria? It beats hiring off the street and getting nothing.
