Has inventory buildup got you down? Are your suppliers supplying you with nothing but grief? Maybe it is time to check out the shopping-mall shrink.

The idea comes from Laguna Beach, Calif. -- surprise, surprise -- where psychologist Martine J. RoBards and her husband, David Hardin, a management consultant, have opened the first in what they hope will be a nationwide chain of "psych shops" located in shopping malls. It is called The Human Equation Ltd. and offers everything from sessions in "holistic architecture" to computer-assisted psychological screening.

The computerized test saves time and money," says RoBards. Conventional therapy "may take several weeks or even months . . . We cover that ground in an hour." Which leaves plenty of time to pick up a quick hamburger, or get your poodle groomed, or whatever.
