Alperts' Ethics
Your article on the Tecmar/IBM sting ("Friday the 13th," October 1983) was not only revealing, but it was also encouraging. The consumer- and business-electronics markets have mushroomed so fast that many people now believe that any competitive advantage is worth the price demanded for it. I applaud the ethics and efforts of Martin and Carolyn Alpert and their colleagues at Tecmar Inc. They had the courage to stick to an incontrovertible business principle: Don't sell your self-respect at any price.
