A Stock Reply
The omission of American Stock Exchange stocks from the performance ranking of 21 investment opportunities that you reprinted from FACT magazine (Your Money, January) is unfortunate.
If $10,000 had been put into Amex stocks, it would have grown to $16,264 by September 30, 1983, had it been invested one year earlier. It would have grown to $30,931 if it had been invested five years earlier.
In both time periods, an investment in Amex stocks would have ranked second on your chart, well ahead of all other stock investments. You (and FACT) do your readers a disservice by not calling this to their attention.
