I found "The Take at the Top" (September 1985) interesting. There are no clear-cut answers to the questions surrounding incentive programs, but we have made a discovery that has proven to be effective: travel programs.
With a vacation that is planned for an employee or key staff member and paid for by the company, employees will show increased productivity both before -- while trying to achieve the set goal -- and after they have been rewarded. The tax benefits to the business that has invested in time-share programs make travel programs one of the most cost-effective tools for incentive management.
