To Tell The Truth
Rarely do I have the time to read an article twice. However, for Paul Hawken's "Truth or Consequences" (August) I made an exception. Candor and integrity with one's customers should, for any business, be the top priority. "The bottom line," as Hawken points out, "should remain at the bottom." The best businesses, both large and small, are those built slowly, carefully, and with great craftsmanship.
I have purchased tools from the Smith & Hawken catalog and they are, without a doubt, the very best there are. Someday my children will use them, and I'm certain they'll be there for my grandchildren.
