Bad Batch
I found the story on Randy and Debbi Fields ("Mrs. Fields' Secret Ingredient," October) interesting both for what was included and what was not included.
The article mentioned that Randy Fields fired 50 people at La Petite Boulangerie in a four-week period, but didn't mention any assistance provided to these people in finding new employment. It also mentioned extensive use of the company computer in assisting employees to be more productive and efficient, but didn't mention using the computer to determine which employees to reward for productivity and efficiency. Finally, the article mentioned use of the computer to screen job applicants, but didn't mention Mrs. Fields Cookies high turnover rate.
