Venture capitalist Glen Moorehead was intrigued by an inventor's product: a handheld computer that calls up biblical passages. But a patent search turned up another man who'd had the same idea in the same month of the same year. So all three parties joined to create Computer Bible Technologies Inc., in Springfield, Ill. With $1 million in funding, they plan to unveil their $485 gadget next month -- and to sell $36 million worth of them this year. -- Leslie Brokaw
