Gimme Some Skin

A chemical company develops a new material which can be used for sports padding and prosthesis liner.

Ann Williams wanted to make a doll with a face that could change expressions, but she couldn't find pliable enough plastic. So she worked with a chemical company to create some. The result: Cablon-Flex, which Cabot Enterprises Ltd., of Rye, N.Y., pitches as a better sports padding and prosthesis liner. It has prototypes in the works for Wilson Sporting Goods, Warner-Lambert, and Kenner Products.
