Company has the first U.S. commercial license for using radio signals bounced off of meteor dust.

Transtrack Inc., in Marion, Mass., has the first U.S. commercial license for a national communications system based on radio signals bounced off meteor dust. Such transmissions are slower than the satellite kind, say company officials, but the equipment customers have to buy is only half as expensive. One market: trucking companies. North American Van Lines is testing the system.
