After surviving one furniture business failure, entrepreneur starts another furniture chain.

Robert W. Darvin is trying to stage a comeback from the debacle of Scandinavian Design, the upscale furniture chain that grew to 68 stores before bellying up in 1988. This time, he's going down market with a discount furniture chain called In -- The Home Furniture Store, based in Norwood, Mass. Darvin insists he'll expand the new business slowly, hoping to level off at about $30 million in sales. "One $100-million company is enough," he says.
