More and more, baseball and other sports cards are attracting serious collectors and investors, leading an ex-banker to introduce a service to value card collections. Collector Systems provides periodic reports -- like portfolio valuations -- on individual collections, updating the buy/sell prices through a regular nationwide survey of shops, dealers, and collectors. Critical issue: will the $1-billion sports card industry accept the Dallas firm's new valuation formula?
