Fax Me Back

New business replaces reader service cards with a technology that automates the response process.

A Sunnyvale, Calif., company is touting a new technology that makes it even faster to disseminate requested information. InterFax links fax machines to computers, which "read" specially designed fax sheets and send back responses automatically; magazine customers, including PC Week and MacWeek, are using the FaxTex system in place of reader service cards. The venture-funded company is Paul Baran's sixth start-up; two are now public.
