Family-Business Forums
Programs and workshops available to members of family businesses.
By Susan Greco |
If you'd like to meet with other family-business owners, check out family-business forums, which tackle such practical matters as valuing a closely held business, and such emotionally charged issues as succession planning.
Membership in the forums is restricted to family businesses, and dues run about $1,000. But the cost of forums can vary. The Family Business Program at Oregon State University, for example, sponsors half-day workshops around the state for a fee of just $50. To locate a group near you, contact Craig Aronoff, director of the Family Business Forum, at Kennesaw State College, in Marietta, Ga., (404) 423-6045.
