Boston-based business showcases U.S. goods to the former Soviet Union markets.
By Anne Murphy |
Boston-based Bosmosco has begun opening wholesale merchandise marts showcasing U.S. goods, from Moscow to Siberia. So far, 147 U.S. companies, hawking everything from sweatshirts to stereos to beer, are paying for space in Bosmosco's American Stores and a crack at the Soviet market of 295 million people. CEO Henry Quinlan anticipates opening more than 20 catalog outlets for wholesale buyers and, once the ruble becomes convertible, taking the chain retail as early as 1993.
