How do you get people to read daily scheduling reports that serve mainly to remind them about the deadlines they have to meet? Take a tip from Susan Donovan, Inc.'s chief copy editor. Every morning she begins her production update with an intriguing quote. As a result, we all read her reports religiously. And believe me, there's nothing I like less than finding out how late I am in finishing this column each month. A few of my favorite quotes:
