Software Publishers Association resources for managing the legal status of a company's software.
The Software Publishers Association offers several tools to help companies manage the legal status of their software (see "Don't Copy That Floppy," No. 06921272, June 1992):
* SPAudit, a DOS or Macintosh computer program designed to take inventory of software stored on hard disks. Examines individual computers for some 700 common business programs. Free.
* "It's Just Not Worth the Risk," a brief videotape dramatizing how a typical business comes to grips with the legal, moral, and cost-consideration aspects of software piracy. $10.
* Software Management Guide, a printed set of policies, plus the SPAudit and video. $80.
Call the SPA at 202-452-1600, or fax 202-223-8756.
