Seems that the U.S. Treasury Department publishes something called "Readings in Management," a compilation of articles and excerpts offering timeless managerial wisdom for the people who oversee that vital arm of the federal government. Among the featured classics:

The Federalist No. 1, by Alexander Hamilton

The Federalist No. 10, by James Madison

The Federalist No. 51, by James Madison

"Books That Transform Companies," by Leslie Brokaw . . .

Wait a minute. Isn't that our own associate editor Leslie Brokaw, and wasn't the article Inc.'s cover story of July 1991? Says Brokaw, "Yeah, me and Alex and Jimmy go way back."
