The six young women who joined us for "Take Our Daughters to Work Day," on April 28, managed to accomplish in a few hours what it takes a whole bunch of us at Inc. an entire month to do: create a magazine. Athletic Girls premiered at 20 pages, complete with 7 pages of advertising, a dynamic design, and incisive articles on playing volleyball for the first time and the increasing popularity of baseball among girls. The AG staffers were kind enough to offer me the position of editor at large. I told them I wasn't sure what the job entailed, but it sounded as though I'd get to travel a lot and not have a boss -- two things I like very much. I accepted.
