Robert Morris Associates' 'Business Credit Information Package' simplifies the loan application process.
Bankers have their own distinctive ways of sizing up businesses. But not many of them have the time to help small-business borrowers gather all the information the bank needs. If you want to simplify the process of applying for a loan, a new workbook produced by Robert Morris Associates (RMA), an international organization of bank loan and credit officers, is tailor-made for the job.
RMA's 30-page Business Credit Information Package contains basic forms for borrowers (or their accountants) to fill out that will give lenders much of what they want. A four-page borrower questionnaire, for instance, asks for the names of key customers and suppliers, and for details about insurance coverage and succession plans. The package also includes work sheets for assembling simplified balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements, and cash-flow statements.
