A new reservation service caters to the perceived needs of women travelers.
Is there a hair dryer in the bathroom? How big are the counters? How's the neighborhood? The considerations of female travelers are different from males' when it comes to hotel accommodations -- at least that's the theory behind a new phone-in service offered by Express Reservations, a room-booking co-op in Boulder, Colo.
Now women can get these and similar questions answered by querying the free information bank that Express Reservations agents have compiled with an eye toward women's concerns. To gather and update the data, staff members personally inspect the 40 major hotels in Manhattan and greater Los Angeles that the company works with.
For Express Reservations' room ratings and details on its New York City and L.A. discounts (averaging 10% to 20% below the usual corporate rates), call 800-356-1123, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., eastern time.
