Benchmark: The Effects of Workplace Violence
BY Donna Fenn
The results of a survey of 500 managers about the effects of threats and incidents of workplace violence.
More than half of 500 managers of large and small companies surveyed in 1994 reported incidents or threats of workplace violence in the previous four years. While statistics suggest that many of those companies adopted workplace-violence policies after an incident had occurred, the negative impact of violence makes a strong case for more proactive measures.
