I thought Twitter would be a waste of time, and many executives in my industry still don't get it. But I've been able to use it as a quick, free, and fun way to step away from the CEO job and connect and share with people I wouldn't otherwise know -- from people who tweet me with their tax problems to entrepreneurs who share great tips for using the Web to boost their business to media professionals with breaking tax news. I've even seen a competing tax resolution firm retweet me -- so I guess I must be onto something!

If you are at a trade show, monitor tweets about that show. If an influential person or blogger tweets that they are at a location, go meet them and tell them you saw their tweet. It is a great way to connect.

PALM PRE VERSUS IPHONE

The Pre looks better on paper, but as we all know, with cell phones, the winner will emerge with real-world testing. The iPhone has been out a while now and has a huge head start!

I'll give the Palm Pre the advantage on multitasking and the network. But it's tough to go to a smaller screen, smaller app store, and smaller storage. The iPhone wins, but it's great that someone actually came up with something that is being compared with the iPhone for more than a week!
