What's your favorite part of a typical day?

The first hour after waking up, when I am alone with my thoughts.

My scientific advisory board, my board of directors, and my friends from elementary school.

What keeps you up at night?

Raising money.

If you were going to start a business in another industry, what would it be?

A health care venture capital firm.

What is your greatest fear?

Losing my faith and spiritual strength.

What is your greatest extravagance?

Season tickets to the New York Jets.

What talent would you most like to have?

Reading people's minds.

What is your most treasured possession?

A photograph of my daughter taken on Christmas Day 2002 -- the day we adopted her in Russia.

What skill would you most like to improve?

I'd like to develop any degree of patience.
