A New Event Service

Poken promises its users networking, with a twist.

Socializing at conferences can be awkward for even the most adept hobnobbers. A new service called pokenEVENT aims to make it easier. Here's how it works: Event organizers order branded Pokens -- small devices that exchange digital contact information when touched together -- and give them to attendees to encourage networking. Poken also creates a social networking site for the event at which attendees can read one another's profiles and contact one another. After the event, organizers can log on to see who exchanged information.
COST: Starting at $3,500 for an event with 200 Pokens, the minimum order amount.
