San Diego saveonresorts.com
It has always been a challenge to get people to sit down for a sales presentation about time-shares. Kevin Schneider heard about the problem when he was hired to build a website that would generate leads for a new resort hotel near San Diego. Schneider's site did its job, and that success led the former college professor to launch SaveOnResorts.com. 'A lot of resorts are coming to us now to offer discounts through our site, because we are able to market more aggressively than they could through their own hotel website or a site like Expedia or Travelocity,' says Schneider. According to him, most resorts close time-share deals with 10 percent of the people who book vacations through his site, and SaveOnResorts.com typically gets a $400 commission for each sale. The company now offers discounted nightly and weekly stays that don't require attendance at a presentation.
