My partner and I run a shared workspace for entrepreneurs and freelancers, and we were looking for an easy way to collect information from members. In February, we started using Wufoo, an online service that helps us build different types of forms, surveys, and invitations using simple drag-and-drop design tools and integrate them into our website.
When people sign up online for our co-working spaces, we ask them to fill out a profile form, which we created using Wufoo, and upload a photo. We print out the profiles and post them to a wall so people can get to know one another.
We also use Wufoo to collect data on potential clients. When someone signs up for our e-mail list via a Wufoo-created form on our website, the service notifies us by e-mail and text. It also sends the e-mail address to our MailChimp account, which we use for e-mail marketing, and Flowtown, which tracks down the name, gender, and social networks associated with each address.
Our Wufoo subscription, which costs $14.95 a month, gives us one account and the ability to create unlimited forms using 10 different templates. We also get 250 MB of storage for items uploaded to forms. The service is just what we needed.
Have you tried a new product or service that helps you run your business? Head to www.inc.com/thegoods and tell us about it. We run the best comments in the magazine every month.
