A Pocket-Size 3-D Camera

It looks like a standard point-and-shoot camera, but the new Sony DSC-TX9 Cyber-shot lets you take 3-D panoramic photos by pressing the shutter button and panning across a scene. The 12.2-megapixel camera stitches together multiple frames, resulting in more detailed 3-D photos than those taken with most standard 3-D cameras, which combine two images to create depth. You can also preview photos in simulated 3-D on the camera's 3.5-inch LCD touchscreen by tilting it from left to right. The 5-ounce camera also shoots standard photos and panoramas, in addition to 1080i high-definition video. One caveat: Though you can view regular photos taken on the camera on any display, you must view 3-D photos on a compatible 3-D television to get the full effect.
