An Easier Way to Jet-Set

Charter a private jet in the same way you would book an airline ticket.

Think of it as Expedia for private jets: A new website called flyRuby lets you search for and book flights from a variety of charter carriers in one place. You can search for flights by specifying departure and arrival dates and times, airports, and number of passengers, as well as aircraft class. The service scours a database of charter carriers and identifies the four or five most likely aircraft and pilots for the trip, providing exact details 36 hours before takeoff. Travelers book flights directly on flyRuby, which requires a 10 percent deposit upon booking and full payment three days before departure. The site, which launched in August, has partnered with about 80 charter operators so far and plans to add more in the coming months.
