A Groupon for golfers, The Early Birdie sends weekly e-mails to subscribers, offering discounts of up to 50 percent on greens fees at top courses. After registering for free on TheEarlyBirdie.com, you receive an offer each Sunday. You purchase the deal on the site, then print the receipt and bring it to the course. Deals expire in one week or when they sell out, but most vouchers are good for one year and do not include blackout times. Recent offers include a twosome with a cart at the Doral Arrowwood Golf Club in Rye Brook, New York, for $50 (a 50 percent discount). Now focused on the New York metropolitan area, the site plans to partner with 30 to 50 courses on the East and West coasts this year.
