Sachin Agarwal of Posterous talks about the huge rewards that can come from delegating, despite its difficulty.
Sachin Agarwal, the founder of Posterous, a blog hosting service, got bogged down in the numbers as his company grew. Then, he writes (blog.posterous.com), he got smart: He hired a CFO.
"Last month our new CFO came into the office and I transferred all the finance knowledge that was in my head over to her. It was an incredible relief. I finally had someone else looking at our finances and helping me with the operations side of the company. It's hard to bring yourself to giving up this responsibility, trusting someone else, spending the money on hiring this person. But believe me, it's worth it. I should have hired a CFO a year ago."
