America’s Fastest-Growing Government Services Company
In 2002, after two and a half years as a logistics specialist for the Air Force, Crystal Culbertson went out on her own. She launched Crystal Clear Technologies, a consultancy, to help the military streamline its procurement processes. The company has since evolved into a seller of communications and technology systems to the Department of Defense. Culbertson prides herself on the company's ability to fulfill complex contracts under pressure. That commitment was sorely tested in March, when Crystal Clear sent eight employees to Japan to install a secure broadband network at Kadena Air Base, near Okinawa. The company had $1 million of supplies en route to the base just as the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami hit the country. Through coordination with port officials, Culbertson and her staff were able to locate the supplies and complete the installation on schedule.
