My website aggregates blogs, gossip, and news about college life, so I have to stay abreast of stories that appeal to our audience. As soon as I got my iPad 2 a few months ago, I searched for an app that could help me organize articles on the tablet, and I came across Pulse News.

The app is much easier to use than other news readers I've tried. You can add up to 60 RSS feeds by searching for suggestions on the app or entering addresses manually. I grouped my feeds into five pages with different labels, including Education and Entertainment. When I'm browsing through the pages, it's like I'm visiting dozens of websites at once. Each feed has its own row, along which stories appear in large tiles with headlines and photos. I can read stories, star them to read later, e-mail them to employees, and post them to our Facebook and Twitter accounts from the app.

The iPad app syncs with my online Pulse.me account and my iPhone app, so the stories are always within reach. Another plus? The service is free.
