Some PhotoShop geeks at a small Long Island company called Worth1000 are running an online contest that invites entrants to create old-fashioned advertising for contemporary products. The examples submitted so far include ad with a certain fin de siecle air for Segway, Apple, the Nintendo Wii, Vitaminwater, Viagra, Jagermeister, Purell, TiVo—even the Girls Gone Wild series of videos.
MIKE HOFMAN was previously editor of Inc.com and a deputy editor at Inc. magazine, which he joined in 1996. The site was nominated for a National Magazine Award for Digital Media in 2010, and was named the best business website by Folio Magazine.
