Bill Strickland is a man on a mission to change the world - one decaying urban area at a time. As the founder and driving force behind the Pittsburgh-based Manchester Bidwell Corp., a nonprofit that runs the Manchester Craftsman's Guild, which aims to rescue at-risk school kids by using art to teach them life skills, and the Bidwell Training Center, which trains displaced adults for real work in real jobs through its partnerships with local businesses, he has proven that innovative thinking and creative processes can transform a community. Now, he's banking that what he's learned about turning human liabilities into assets and building a business out of making a difference in hundreds of adolescents', and adults', lives can change every urban community in America - and the world.
