Gold Medal Millionaires |
|
|---|---|
Ted Ligety hasn't even turned 25, but already he has a gold medal for the men's alpine combined event from the 2006 Torino games, and is an accomplished entrepreneur. Shortly after Ligety brought his gold medal home to Park City, Utah, he launched Shred Optics, a brand of ski goggles that he designs in a style he describes as "retro punk." Ligety conceived of Shred Optics when he couldn't find goggles that defined his style as a skier. That's when he decided to create his own line -- his products are distinguished by their bright neon colors and signature argyle straps -- that would represent the individuality in his sport. Ligety, who can be spotted on the World Cup Circuit donning his own goggles, recently expanded his Shred Optics brand to include a line of sunglasses. |
