Great Design? 11 Products Destined to be Kitschy

Nominated by: Seth Godin, author (The Big Moo, Purple Cow, Small Is the New Big) and entrepreneur

"Style can easily become kitsch. Style is transient. Style often masquerades as design. Design, on the other hand, is about effectiveness and beauty combined. And it lasts longer. I think the iPod shuffle is stylish, but not well-designed. A few years from now, we'll realize that it's too big to be small, too fussy to be useful, and not 'smart' enough to use every day. It was a brilliant solution for its time, but its time is very short."
