The Big Muskie was the world's largest earthmoving machine. Although the machine was disassembled in the late 1990s, Big Muskie's bucket -- which weighs 460,000 pounds and has a volume equal to that of a 12-car garage -- remains as a memorial to the increasingly obsolete surface mining industry and to the giant dragline machine, one of the seven engineering wonders of the world.
