Users of Second Life are called residents. Although 3 million user accounts have been issued, it is not likely there are 3 million actual residents of Second Life, because many accounts are not active and many users have multiple accounts. Yet, on an average day, between 12,000 and 25,000 users are logged on to Second Life at any one time.
