Intuit's New Collaboration Initiative

Today, Intuit launched the Intuit Collaboratory, a website that gives businesses, individuals, and academics the chance to collaborate with the financial software company on new ideas and products.

Partnerships could take several forms. Participants might develop a product that could be bundled with Intuit products, for example, or their ideas might be integrated into an Intuit offering. Some partners might even be asked to become part of Intuit.

Participants can make their own suggestions or respond to specific  'challenges' posted by Intuit for a chance to win up to $10,000. One current challenge involves developing a more efficient way for accounting professionals to collect and organize documents and other data from their clients. After creating an account, participants can submit ideas using the site's Brainstorm tool.
