New IRS Smartphone App
Not to be outdone by H&R Block and other tax prep services, the Internal Revenue Service has released its first smartphone app, IRS2Go. The free app, now available for Android phones and iPhones, is easy to navigate. You can use it to check the status of your refund, sign up for daily e-mails featuring tax tips and updates, and subscribe to the IRS Twitter feed. The app also includes a handy list of IRS contact numbers. One drawback: It does not let you estimate your tax refunds or payments prior to filing.
