New Printers from HP

 

Today, HP announced a new line of 'plug and print' laser printers that eliminate the hassle of downloading software from a CD-ROM. After plugging the printer into a netbook, notebook, or desktop PC, an HP Easy Install box pops up. Within a few clicks, you're ready to print.  The printers are especially handy for netbooks, which don't accommodate CDs. They also feature eco-friendly technology such as an Auto On/Auto Off function that automatically powers them up and down based on printing activity. The printers start at $149 for the HP LaserJet Pro P1100, which prints up to 19 letter-sized pages a minute.

HP also introduced the new ScanJet Professional 1000, a mobile scanner that weighs just 1.4 pounds and can scan both sides of a document, including business cards, at once. The scanner is $249.
