My business is manufacturing and selling my invention - Laptop Lifts. Last week we finally got it into major distribution so you should start to see it available all over the US. It was an idea that I had developed while I was still employed but after I was 'liberated' from my job (laid off) I used the opportunity to really go forward, develop the product and sell and market it full time.

It has been a tremendous learning experience and I have been able to wear many hats that I had not worn before. I was a web developer and I now have experience with international trade, sales, marketing, distribution and retail sales. I have hired artists, manufacturers and engineers. I have written Patents and Trademarks, formed a corporation and arranged for sales tax and other corporate responsibilities. I have gained a lot of confidence in my abilities and I have also picked up many skills that will help me into the future.

I used Alibaba to look at manufacturers for products for future ventures or similar products to add to my line. It is a great resource to see the variety of products that are available to build a business with.
