Broadcom Offers Networking Software for SMBs

 

Broadcom (NASDAQ:BRCM) has released the fifth-generation of the production-ready FASTPATH networking software. When combined with its Ethernet switching silicon, it allows equipment manufacturers to offer professional-grade features, such as VoIP and security, tailored and priced for small and midsize businesses.

FASTPATH v5.0 includes FASTPATH SMB and SmartPATH software. FASTPATH SMB is designed for smaller companies that require robust layer 2 switches with management support, including CLI (command line interface), SNMP (simple network management protocol), and Web-based interfaces. SmartPATH software enables "smart" switches for small business environments without a dedicated IT staff.

"Broadcom is demonstrating its leadership in Ethernet switching by providing innovative technology and faster time-to-market to our customers," Martin Lund, vice president and general manager of Broadcom's Network Switching Business, said in a statement.
