Sentry, Maxtor Launch Protected Data Storage

 

Residential and small-office security storage container provider Sentry Group has teamed up with Maxtor Storage Solutions, a Seagate Technology (NYSE:STX) company, to deliver affordable hard drives that protect data from fire and water damage, as well as computer crashes and theft.

Sentry Group plans to launch six new data and document security products, including two SentrySafe FIRE-SAFE/Waterproof Hard Drives containing Maxtor OneTouch 4 Mini hard drives. As a mobile storage solution containing a full suite of software protection tools, including data encryption and a bare metal system restore, nearly instantaneous restoration of an entire computer system is possible in the event of a crash or virus attack.

The FIRE-SAFE/Waterproof enclosure protects the hard drive for 30 minutes in up to 1550 degrees F and is completely waterproof for up to 24 hours. The new drive is available starting at $259.99.
