AT&T Offers Remote Monitor for Small Firms
AT&T (NYSE:T) has unveiled a new service to help small-business owners keep tabs on their places of businesses. The AT&T Remote Monitor service is a comprehensive toolkit combining IP video cameras and a range of environmental sensor options that enables business owners to stay connected to offices, warehouses and retail stores.
Features of the new service include the ability to customize alerts and actions, such as having a text message alert sent when motion is detected at doors or windows then automatically turning on lights and video. Temperature sensors monitor temperature changes in, for example, walk-in refrigerators, IT server closets or store rooms. Water levels are monitored so that owners can be notified in case of flooding or leaks.
The Remote Monitor starter kit is priced from $199 with a one-year contract, with monthly service charges starting at $9.95 for a single location. Other plans can support up to five locations.
