Diligent, Overland to Offer Deduplication Software

Deduplication and data protection solutions provider Diligent Technologies has entered into an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreement with Overland Storage (NASDAQ:OVRL)  that will see Diligent's ProtecTIER deduplication software power Overland's REO 9500D storage solution.

Data deduplication solutions helps companies make more cost-effective technology purchasing decisions. ProtecTIER offers enterprise-class solutions to midsize business customers. Its embedded inline deduplication product, HyperFactor, will increase the usable capacity of each Overland REO9000D model by up to 25 times, allowing customers to easily protect significantly more data.

Combining ProtecTIER and Overland's REO platform offers optimal disk-based data protection, including high speed, reliable backup and recovery. The agreement allows Overland to sell ProtecTIER's inline deduplication solution to its customers and channel partners.
