The new server allows streaming video and audio to be shared among multiple wireless users.
Silex Technology has unveiled its new wireless USB device server with isochronous data transfer support. The SX-2000WG+ allows streaming video and audio USB devices like webcams and speakers to be easily shared among multiple Windows and Mac users over a wireless network or Ethernet wired network. Designed and priced for home and small business use, the new server also supports other types of USB devices.
Priced at $149, the SX-2000WG+ uses SX Virtual Link software to provide transparent network access to USB devices. The application emulates a direct USB port on Windows or Mac systems and transfers the packets out over the network to the SX-2000WG+.
"With the addition of isochronous support, users can now share virtually any kind of USB device over a wireless or wired network. No other company can match our capabilities and compatibility in this market," Keith Sugawara, general manager of Silex Technology America, said in a statement.
