The new service delivers improved application performance for field offices.
Wide-area data services (WDS) company Riverbed Technology (NASDAQ:RVBD) has announced that international IT services provider Freudenberg IT (FIT) is offering a premium service based on Riverbed's Steelhead WDS products. The new service delivers dramatic improvements in application performance for field offices, including remote sites and mobile workers, improved collaboration between distributed employees, reduced costs, and better control over IT infrastructure to midsize businesses worldwide.
Riverbed's WDS solutions address a host of problems, including poor application performance and insufficient bandwidth at remote sites. Using WDS, performance of applications between data centers, remote offices and mobile workers can be increased by five to 50 times, allowing companies to consolidate IT and improve staff productivity and collaboration.
"We were looking for a product that could overcome all the key factors that decelerate application performance over the WAN: high latency, limited bandwidth, 'busy' transport protocols, and even 'busier' applications," Heiko Ruschen, an infrastructure consultant with FIT, said in a statement.
