NETGEAR (NASDAQ:NTGR) has introduced the Femtocell Voice Gateway, an innovative single-box solution featuring integrated ADSL2+ modem, router, 10/100 wired LAN switch, 802.11g wireless access point, VoIP, SPI double firewall, and 3G femtocell technology from 3G femtocell maker Ubiquisys.

Available in the first half of 2008, the Femtocell Voice Gateway is designed for home and small business use. Essentially seven products in one, it reduces the clutter of multiple networking devices. This plug-and-play solution uses an ADSL line to enable users to share their broadband connection with their mobile devices and networked computers, both wired and wirelessly.

"The proliferation of advanced multimedia applications and fixed mobile convergence now requires the existence of reliable home networks with fast Internet access, which can also support applications via mobile phones and other handheld devices," David James, NETGEAR's director of product marketing for service provider markets, said in a statement. He added that the new device not only delivers high-quality cellular phone coverage, but also enables users to access a range of home networking services.
